Abstract
With the potential to improve patient care and quality of life, artificial intelligence (AI) has been rapidly integrated into healthcare domains. In particular, the development of AI chatbots such as ChatGPT, Google Gemini, and Microsoft Pilot,1, 2 are thought to enhance patient experiences and assist health providers. AI chatbots are tools designed to interact with users simply through textual or vocal conversations, and have shown interesting potential in musculoskeletal (MSK) rehabilitation.1, 2 This editorial explores the multidimensional role of AI chatbots in MSK rehabilitation, presenting recent evidence within the areas where they have been studied, their limitations and ethical challenges, and future research directions.
