Abstract

The concept of health transcends mere absence of illness encompassing physical, mental, and social well-being. For women, addressing health concerns extends beyond major diseases, like heart disease and breast cancer, to encompass issues such as premenstrual syndrome, birth control, fertility, and menopause. Leveraging advancements in machine learning (ML) and Explainable AI, healthcare professionals can harness precise medicine solutions tailored to women's specific health needs. However, despite their potential, the application of ML and AI in women's health encounters challenges. This chapter explores the role of explainable AI in the context of women's health elucidating how transparent and interpretable algorithms can enhance understanding and address health disparities. By examining various ML algorithms and their potential applications in women's health, this chapter aims to pave the way for leveraging AI and ML technologies to provide effective solutions to female health issues while ensuring transparency, trustworthiness, and accountability in healthcare delivery.
