Abstract
The development of artificial intelligence (AI) and digital technology is transforming the healthcare sector, leading to remarkable improvements in the quality of patient care. Innovations such as virtual mental health platforms, AI-driven diagnostics and customized therapies are altering the boundaries of modern medicine. However, in addition to the advantages, significant obstacles remain, including protecting patient confidentiality, addressing biases in AI programs and maintaining the crucial human touch in healthcare. This chapter explores these complexities, suggesting approaches for the ethical incorporation of AI in the healthcare field. By carefully combining technology with physical and psychological well-being, AI can be harnessed to improve both types of well-being without compromising the core principles of healthcare. By exploring these complexities, AI and digital technology can significantly contribute to improved healthcare outcomes while maintaining the core values of human connection and physical and psychological well-being.
