ChatGPT and Creation of Tests in ESP

Abstract
The paper investigates the application of ChatGPT in the creation of tests for English for Specific Purposes (ESP). After the introduction, it discusses the fundamental role of testing in ESP, presents various test classifications, and examines the possible functions and benefits of test creation software. The sections that follow deal with the use of ChatGPT for the creation of language assessments and tests, at first through literature review and then through a more specific discussion on the use of ChatGPT for the generation of ESP assessments and tests, dealing both with practical use, issues, benefits, advantages, flaws and drawbacks and with ethical and aesthetical aspects of such creations. The final section gives some conclusions and recommendations.
