Applying Ethics in AI-Based Research

Abstract

it is possible to name a number of opportunities of using ethical principles while carrying out AI research: transparency, accountability, and fairness; protection of privacy and safety; responsibility and human-oriented design; and inclusiveness and diversity. Thus, the further integration of these ethical points into AI development activity allow to develop ethical thinking in researchers, to gain the trust of users and the wider community, and to contribute to the creation of the positive impact of AI technologies on society. On a different level, dealing with issues related to transparency and accountability, procedural injustice and bias, information confidentiality and protection, security and safety, accountability and responsibility, as well as human-centered approach. It should be considered as significant for accomplishing further ethical AI research or as the critical consideration of the development and implementation of new AI solutions that could be effective, useful, and safe on extreme as well as, most importantly, ethical for the human society
