Next-Generation Medical Solutions With AI-Powered Haptics

Abstract
The convergence of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and haptic technologies is a monolithic advancement in medical technology making systems not only touch-sensitive but reasonable to respond to touch as well. The objective is to examine how the inter-disciplinary complementarity between the two disciplines provides greater precision, personalization, and security to medicine. The chapter provides the latest AI models like CNN, LSTM, and Reinforcement Learning used in haptic technologies. The chapter also addresses sensor technologies like piezoelectric skins and MEMS-based systems. A smart multi-layered haptic feedback architecture is introduced using deep learning and edge computing. The study demonstrates that AI-haptic technology is capable of multiplying tactile precision orders of magnitude, decreasing response latency, and providing context-sensitive feedback in medical settings like robotic surgery, prostheses, and physical therapy.
