Abstract

ABSTRACT Artificial intelligence (AI) is revolutionizing medicine by enhancing diagnostic accuracy, streamlining health data management, optimizing treatment personalization, and supporting innovative approaches in patient care. However, its integration into healthcare systems presents significant ethical challenges, including data confidentiality concerns, algorithmic biases, transparency in decision‐making, and the risk of over‐reliance on technology. This article delves into the current applications of AI in medicine, examines its psychosocial impacts on patient‐physician relationships and healthcare professionals' roles, and offers actionable recommendations for its responsible and equitable adoption. Ensuring the ethical design and deployment of AI will be critical to preventing unintended harms, fostering trust, and guiding future advancements in AI‐driven healthcare. By addressing critical issues such as the depersonalization of care, regulatory gaps, and the need for patient‐centered approaches, we emphasize the importance of interdisciplinary collaborations among technologists, healthcare providers, policymakers, and ethicists. These collaborations are essential to ensure that AI maximizes its transformative potential while minimizing risks and safeguarding ethical principles in healthcare.
