The Enhancing Security in Project Management Through Artificial Intelligence: A Bibliometric Study

Abstract

Abstract The field of project management is prevalent across various industries and is also being impacted by advancements in Artificial Intelligence (AI). However, the use of AI in project management is not yet widely adopted in many companies, particularly in all areas of project management. The reasons for this are unclear, but it appears to be linked to uncertainties surrounding the implementation of AI in project management. This chapter aimed to recognise the capabilities and constraints of AI in project management through a bibliometric analysis. The analysis allowed for the examination and correlation of chosen articles to identify patterns and trends. Ultimately, it became evident that the scientific community has a growing interest in this area, but there are still unexplored areas to consider. This review systematically examines the use of AI in project management from 2007 to 2023, providing novel insights and up-to-date information. By analysing 102 articles retrieved from Scopus, the data were extracted, analysed and coded using R Studio. Additionally, there is a shift in the researcher affiliation, with project management now being the most dominant, compared to previous studies that showed a lack of researchers from this field.
