Abstract

The emergence of deepfake technology, powered by advances in artificial intelligence, is reshaping the landscape of healthcare.Deepfakes can convincingly simulate real-world scenarios, offering innovative applications such as personalized patient education, immersive mental health therapies, remote consultations through virtual avatars, and realistic training for medical professionals.However, this powerful tool also introduces significant ethical and practical concerns, including risks of misinformation, breaches of privacy, and challenges in maintaining trust and data security.This research critically examines the dual impact of AI-generated deepfakes within healthcare systems.It explores their potential to enhance patient engagement, improve accessibility, and elevate the quality of medical training, while also assessing the ethical dilemmas and technical hurdles that accompany their adoption.The findings reveal that, although deepfakes hold promise for transforming care delivery, their integration must be approached with caution.The study concludes by recommending robust ethical guidelines and collaborative oversight involving healthcare providers, technologists, and policymakers.Such measures are essential to ensure that the benefits of deepfakes are realized responsibly, safeguarding patient welfare and upholding the integrity of healthcare practice in an era of rapidly evolving technology.
