Abstract
The number of medical papers incorporating deep learning technologies has significantly increased.Consequently, medical journals require specialized editorial expertise to cover these developments.Beyond validating the medical value, efficacy, and research outcomes, there is a need to verify the technical aspects of deep learning research methods and result analyses. The Ewha Medical Journal (EMJ) is a highly progressive publication that actively supports and encourages medical research utilizing artificial intelligence (AI).Furthermore, recognizing the necessity of this specialized AI role, we have created the position of AI Editor, a rare occurrence globally.I joined EMJ this year as the AI article editor and have recently reviewed and guided several papers. This letter aims to provide a general guide from an engineering perspective for working on medical research papers that utilize artificial intelligence. It is intended to be easily understandable, yet it is not exhaustive or master-level content, nor does it provide a checklist. For a reliable ultimate guideline, we recommend the TRIPOD-AI statement [1,2].
