Abstract
This article explores how ChatGPT is transforming industrial engineering and artificial intelligence by enhancing efficiency, accuracy, and decision-making. Custom GPT models are presented as a solution to the “Chinese Room” argument, demonstrating reduced hallucinations and improved domain-specific comprehension through the use of tailored training datasets. The article highlights practical applications, including secure collaboration facilitated by the Team version, automation of engineering tasks using VBA macros and Python scripts, and real-time decision-making through IoT integration. Ethical challenges such as accountability, bias, and privacy are critically examined, with proposed strategies to address them. This study underscores ChatGPT’s significant potential while advocating for its responsible and sustainable integration into industrial workflows.
