Revolutionizing Healthcare: Lessons from Big Hero 6 and Baymax in AI and Robotics

Abstract

There has been a growing curiosity and debate regarding the use of robots in health care, as there has been an increase in the production of fictional movies and series regarding this topic. This initiative does provide a timely critique of the status quo of robots in health care, especially through the lens of the film Big Hero 6 and the series Baymax. In doing so, this study is concerned with issues which could lead to the effective, and also ethical use of artificial intelligence and robotics in healthcare, and in the end improve the lives of both patients and caregivers. These animations show exactly how robots can act on behalf of patients or people who need help when a human being is absent or not available at that very moment. Baymax is an example of an AI assistant robot who is designed to assist and provide treatment on the go, a great technology which many people would cite as their ideal future. This research looks at robotics in patient care such as assisting in rehabilitation and ways of support with their advantages and disadvantages.
