Concerns regarding bias, misinformation, data privacy, and intellectual property are some of the more immediate challenges that we currently face, and fast-paced regulation often lags behind the fast-paced technological development. In the following section, we will explore the benefits in terms of innovation that ChatGPT can contribute to and the ethical considerations that arise. We will explore the different responses by nations to these issues and identify where regulation needs attention. Furthermore, we will suggest a framework to help find the right balance in terms of innovation and ethical issues and make some recommendations for policy makers, businesses, and researchers looking to engage responsibility in using AI.
