Abstract
Generative AI (GenAI) is reshaping workplace dynamics, bringing both opportunities and ethical challenges. The increased attention to AI ethics necessitates a critical approach to understanding its societal and ethical implications. Scholars highlight the need to examine power structures and technological mediation. The way individuals and organizations perceive AI's role influences ethical evaluations. AI integration raises concerns about moral agency, fairness, and knowledge production. GenAI obscures authorship and decision-making, creating accountability and transparency issues, particularly in flexible work environments. Organizations must critically assess AI's ethical risks beyond efficiency gains. Our symposium will explore GenAI's ethical implications in new work contexts, focusing on individual perceptions, remote/hybrid work, and organizational processes. Key questions include AI's impact on moral agency, ethical challenges in remote work, balancing AI adoption with transparency, and the implications of Emotional AI on trust, well-being, and culture. The goal is to foster a deeper understanding of AI's ethical dimensions in the workplace.
