Abstract

Precision medicine is a state-of-the-art approach in healthcare that involves tailoring treatments for a subset of individuals with similar sensitivity to a drug or shared susceptibility to a disease. In recent years, clinicians have focused on the use of AI tools to customize treatment plans, marking a shift from generalized therapy to patient-specific care. This review focuses on artificial intelligence in precision medicine, which significantly improves patient care. This review provides a comprehensive overview of precision medicine and AI, which improves patient care. Literature was collected from several databases, including PubMed, MDPI, and Google Scholar. This review adopts a thematic and comprehensive approach. To provide better customized treatment, precision medicine incorporates and utilizes non-genetic data such as imaging, metabolomics, and epigenomics. AI significantly contributes to healthcare and precision medicine. The application and integration of these modalities in precision medicine are becoming increasingly reliant on AI and machine learning. However, the successful incorporation of AI into precision medicine requires addressing issues related to data privacy, algorithmic transparency, and ethical applications. This review discusses the application of AI and precision medicine approaches for effective patient care and customization of treatment plans. Integration AI with precision medicine.
