Abstract
Developing strong academic writing skills is essential for doctoral students aiming for academic success. However, traditional writing training often fails to address the rapidly evolving landscape shaped by artificial intelligence (AI). This paper presents an AI-enhanced framework for doctoral writing education, designed to bridge critical skill gaps in this new era. Through a systematic literature review of 498 academic papers from the Scopus database, analyzed using VOSviewer for visual mapping and supported by AI-driven insights from ChatGPT, this framework identifies five key dimensions: (1) Academic Writing Fundamentals, (2) AI-Integrated Research Skills, (3) Advanced AI-Driven Writing, (4) Professional Publishing Techniques, and (5) Collaborative Learning and Feedback. Additionally, the framework includes cross-cutting elements such as ethical AI use and personalized curriculum design, tailored to individual student needs and disciplinary contexts. This comprehensive approach aims to address foundational skill gaps, enhance research-specific competencies, and promote ethical scholarly contributions, equipping doctoral students with the essential tools for success in the digital age.
