Abstract
口腔と全身の健康の関連性について最新の研究動向を紹介する。口腔と全身の連携には3つの主要なルートがある。第一のルートは血液を介したもの、第二のルートは唾液を介したもの、第三のルートは近年新たに見つかった細胞外小胞を介したものである。ヒトは毎日1～1.5Lの唾液を飲み込んでおり、その中には100億～1,000億の細菌が含まれている。口腔内の細菌叢と全身疾患との関連性について、特に腸内環境との相互作用が重要である。最近の研究では、肥満、うつ病、自閉症、てんかんなど、様々な全身疾患と口腔内環境との関連が示されている。さらに、AIを活用した口腔検診の可能性についても言及し、特に中国での研究例を挙げ、AIを用いた診断の方が研修医による診断よりも3.22倍高い検診率を示したことを報告する。
