Abstract
This case study shows many of the concerns around patients discussed in Chapter 2 and elsewhere in the textbook. It considers aspects such as perceived benefits, trust in AI, diagnostic errors, and associated human oversight. The case study goes on to discuss the doctor–patient relationship and whether AI will replace human physicians. The study is concluded by considering data security risks and increased healthcare, with points summarised neatly to round off the case and what needs to be recognised and acted upon as AI systems are developed, not least of which is co-production that includes all partners for service changes as new models of working evolve.
