Abstract
Illustration, one of the fields that has integrated with technology from the past to the present and has maintained its relevance, is a language of communication designed to clarify a subject, concept, or information, convey a message, or raise awareness. In recent years, images produced with the support of artificial intelligence have been quite striking. The majority of research in the literature on artificial intelligence tools used in image production is concerned with whether they are creative or artistic. The number of studies on scientific illustrations produced by artificial intelligence is quite limited, and there is no study that directly examines whether scientific illustrations produced by artificial intelligence are scientific in their field. This research addresses the scientific validity of outputs produced by artificial intelligence in the field of medical illustration, which is one of the types of scientific illustrations. In this context, OpenAI, Google Gemini, and chatbots have been listed as the most frequently used AI tools in image processing. Again, medical illustration examples were created by choosing the AI tools listed by artificial intelligence, and the obtained data were compared with those produced without using artificial intelligence and the AI platforms where the productions were made.
