Abstract
This review examines the transformative impact of Artificial Intelligence (AI) on academic research in the digital age. AI technologies, including machine learning, natural language processing and intelligent data analytics, are revolutionizing research practices by enhancing productivity, creativity, and inclusivity. AI tools assist in literature reviews, data collection, hypothesis generation, and academic writing, improving both efficiency and research quality. While these advancements have democratized access to scholarly activities, they also raise ethical concerns regarding academic integrity, algorithmic bias, and transparency. The paper highlights the benefits of AI, such as time-saving and improved research outcomes, while addressing challenges related to authorship and bias in AI algorithms. To harness AI’s potential responsibly, it is essential to promote AI literacy, establish ethical guidelines, and ensure equitable access to AI tools. The review underscores the need for ongoing research to integrate AI ethically and effectively into academic workflows, shaping the future of scholarly inquiry.
