Abstract

This article focuses on the distinctive features of DeepSeek compared to traditional artificial intelligence (AI), analyzes its application scenarios in surgical procedures, and rationally examines the enduring decision-making value and necessary role adaptation that surgeons retain with the support of advanced AI like DeepSeek. The article argues that the gradual integration of DeepSeek will not replace surgeons but will instead establish a collaborative and symbiotic relationship with them. The close cooperation between surgeons and DeepSeek will significantly enhance the precision, efficiency, and safety of surgical operations. Under the impetus of ultra-capable AI like DeepSeek, future surgeons will provide decision-making support and ethical judgment in clinical diagnosis and surgical procedures, thereby advancing surgical medicine to a higher level of development.
