Recent Advances in Large Language Models

Abstract

Large Language models are transformer based pre-trained models. These models have bigger parameter size and use large training data sets. The models have evolved into multimodal generative AI models with strong abilities in solving a complex task efficiently. ChatGPT, a chatbot model backed by GPT-4, has revolutionized human-machine interaction where it understands the language and generates meaningful solutions to the tasks. The popularity of ChatGPT has developed interest among people in understanding its underlying language model. This article presents an overview LLMs comprehensively, their applications, recent research work on LLMs, and challenges in the area of LLMs.
