Abstract
Artificial intelligence is reshaping the pharmaceutical industry by accelerating drug discovery, improving clinical operations, and enhancing manufacturing through high-throughput data analysis, predictive modeling, and automation. Sustainable AI adoption, however, requires organizational transformation, workforce reskilling, strong data governance, and effective knowledge management aligned with regulatory and ethical standards. This chapter outlines key AI technologies and their applications, major enablers such as leadership and collaboration, and challenges including data bias and limited interpretability. It also highlights future directions including generative AI, digital twins, precision medicine, and evolving regulatory frameworks.
