Abstract
The idea of “human-centered AI” is a “naive aspiration” that entails building AI with people in mind first. This method promotes the development of AI to improve, not replace, human decision-making, and it is said to respect user autonomy, trust, and well-being. Human-centered AI uses design principles that include everyone, development methodologies that incorporate everyone, and ethical frameworks to produce systems that a wide range of people, including persons with impairments and people from marginalized groups, can use. AI systems that lessen cognitive load, offer individualized aid, and keep people in charge of life-saving decisions may help some mental health outcomes. This strategy of putting people first will make sure that AI maintains a tool for empowerment, respects human dignity and the principle of fair access, and improves quality of life while reducing any negative consequences that might happen through continual stakeholder involvement and ethical oversight.
