Abstract
As artificial intelligence (AI) becomes increasingly prevalent in education and human services, the need to develop AI literacy among students and faculty in social work, counseling, and psychology is urgent. This chapter explores frameworks and pedagogical models for integrating AI literacy into curricula, emphasizing the importance of ethical, critical, and practical engagement with AI tools. It addresses the unique challenges these relational and value-driven fields face, such as preserving empathy, mitigating algorithmic bias, and ensuring data ethics. Through interdisciplinary curriculum design, experiential learning, and faculty development, the chapter provides a roadmap for institutions to prepare future professionals for a technology-enhanced landscape while upholding humanistic values. Recommendations for inclusive, equitable, and policy-driven approaches are discussed, aiming to foster a human-centered AI literacy ecosystem in human services education.
