Abstract
The Artificial Intelligence (AI) has become a usual component of educational research. This chapter examines the use of AI tools (ChatGPT, ResearchRabbit, Scholarcy, Scite, etc.) in literature reviews, data analysis and academic writing. It uses Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge (TPACK) framework that focuses on the importance of balance between the content, pedagogy and technology and the Activity Theory that analyses the influence of AI on the relationships between researchers, tools, and systems within the institutions. As real-world applications suggest, AI may help people perform the task quicker and yield more profound insights, but there are still the problems of academic integrity, digital access, and overreliance to tackle. The chapter demands the literacy of AI and the responsible use in such a way that research becomes relevant and universal. Ultimately, AI is to be considered as an assistant and not as a substitute of academic reasoning.
