Obstacles and facilitators of teleradiology adoption in healthcare: A scoping review

Abstract

This review highlights the factors that impede and facilitate the adoption of teleradiology. Certain factors, such as the use of artificial intelligence algorithms in teleradiology, can act as influential facilitators in this field. Considering factors and integrating them into the work programs of various healthcare stakeholders is significant for enhancing informed decision making and increasing the acceptance of teleradiology in healthcare settings. Moreover, top-level managers and policymakers can consider these factors when developing a comprehensive community-level guideline to ensure standardized, effective implementation and use of teleradiology by various healthcare stakeholders, including healthcare providers, system designers, and healthcare managers.
