Abstract

The rapid development of artificial intelligence has led to a surge in the usage of large language models like ChatGPT in the academic arena. Therefore, ChatGPT has become a significant tool in the academic arena. The increasing use of AI technology within academic environments prompts the question: Can the use of ChatGPT, as well as similar technology, for the analysis of written content be used for the detection, evaluation, and prediction of the soft skills of learners? This systematic review aims to identify the use of the AI technology, including the use of ChatGPT, for the analysis of the soft skills of learners, as well as the prediction of the same, through the analysis of the content of the written work of the learners. The research was conducted according to the PRISMA methodology, with the relevant literature being collected from the Scopus, Web of Science, and IEEE Xplore databases, with the relevant literature covering the period from 2015 to 2025. The research compares the conventional methods for the evaluation of soft skills with the use of AI technology, which analyzes the linguistic, emotional, and behavioral characteristics of the content of the written work of the learners. The results of the research indicate the increasing trend of the use of the AI technology, including the use of ChatGPT, for the evaluation of the soft skills of learners, with the use of the technology for the generation of educational purposes, as well as the use of the same for the evaluation of the soft skills of learners, highlighting the challenges that are still to be overcome, including the evaluation of the results, as well as the ethical use of the technology, with minimal biases, for the evaluation of the soft skills of learners, with the use of a combination of human judgment, as well as the use of AI technology, being the most viable option for the development of a transparent soft skill evaluation framework.
