Abstract

Artificial intelligence (AI) is entering more and more areas of personal and public life, including higher education, but the expansion of the capabilities of new technologies necessitates the introduction of legal regulation. The aim of this article is to explore some legal aspects of the use of AI in the activities of university professors. On the one hand, it examines the extent to which AI tools have been applied and explores the attitudes of the academic community regarding the eligibility for their use in teaching and research. On the other hand, trends and regulatory frame challenges related to the processes under consideration are identified. Outside the scope of this study is the question of what specific AI tools are eligible for use in teaching and research. Along with the traditional legal-dogmatic method of legal research, an empirical survey was used. This article presents the academic community's perspective on the impact of information technology in their professional activities, which has not been the subject of research before. The use of AI tools in the activities of university professors has the practical consequence of building an effective education-science-business relationship.
