Abstract
This paper explores the opportunities and risks of Generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) in student research practices. While AI tools offer significant benefits such as accelerating literature review, enhancing writing quality, and supporting idea generation, they also introduce critical challenges including hallucinated references, over-reliance, and ethical concerns. This study proposes the AARW Framework (Awareness, Assistance, Review, and Writing) as a conceptual guideline to support responsible AI usage among student researchers. The framework emphasizes the importance of maintaining critical thinking, verifying AI-generated content, and integrating AI tools in a structured and ethical manner. By synthesizing existing literature and practical observations, this paper contributes to the growing discourse on responsible AI in academic environments, particularly for early-stage researchers.
