Abstract

This chapter examines the emergence of next-generation healthcare systems shaped by the integrated adoption of immersive digital environments, artificial intelligence, and privacy-preserving learning paradigms. The purpose of the chapter is to provide a structured overview of how metaverse architectures, AI-enabled analytics, digital twins, and federated learning collectively transform healthcare delivery, medical education, and system-level management. Drawing on recent interdisciplinary literature, the chapter discusses how immersive technologies enhance patient engagement and clinical training, how AI and digital twins enable predictive and personalized decision-making, and how federated learning supports collaborative intelligence while protecting sensitive health data. The chapter also critically addresses key challenges related to cybersecurity, trust, ethics, and data governance in highly interconnected healthcare ecosystems.
