The Uptake of AI in Healthcare: Human-AI Synergy as a Pillar of Excellence

Abstract

AI, or Artificial Intelligence, is already in use in multiple sectors and is enhancing them in a very constructive manner. In the healthcare industry, AI helps in automating administrative procedures, predicting patient outcomes, customizing treatment plans, and increasing the accuracy of clinical diagnoses. AI operates in conjunction with imaging technology by analyzing thousands of pieces of medical data through its algorithms to assist in the early diagnosis of cancer and other diseases. However, human skills are equally important. While AI is proficient in data analysis, a human healthcare provider brings compassion, decisions, communication, and ethics. This study has been conducted based on the AI-integrated health care systems to determine whether this technology complements human skill or replaces it. The results indicate a remarkable improvement in the diagnosis and treatment plan for patients and optimization of human resources due to AI technology. The collaboration of human skill and AI greatly enhances the standard of care that patients receive and improves overall efficiency in healthcare delivery.
