Abstract
This chapter examines how artificial intelligence (AI) is reshaping ageing healthcare by supporting clinical decision-making and improving outcomes for older adults. It addresses the application of AI in diagnostics, risk stratification, personalised care planning, and resource allocation across geriatric services. The chapter analyses key benefits such as early detection of cognitive decline, fall prediction, medication optimisation, and remote patient monitoring. It also considers ethical and operational challenges, including data bias, patient consent, and the risk of over-reliance on automated systems. Through clinical case examples and policy analysis, the chapter outlines how AI can support ageing populations without replacing the human judgment essential to compassionate geriatric care.
