Abstract
This chapter examines the perception of doctors in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on the myriad potential and difficulties of integrating artificial intelligence (AI) into healthcare. The study adopted a qualitative design where twelve healthcare professionals chosen through purposive sampling participated in semi-structured interviews. Findings denote that strong governance procedures and training programs are imperative for successful AI integration. Additionally, results reveal that although AI has the potential to improve patient accessibility, diagnostic accuracy, patient engagement, clinical efficiency and predictive and proactive patient care, the sector confronts numerous challenges, such as lack of standardization, ethical issues, budgetary limitations, and opposition to change. This study adds to the body of AI literature in healthcare by urging strategic cooperation between educators, regulators, and healthcare professionals in order to maximize AI adoption, thereby ultimately enhancing patient care and operational outcomes in the UAE healthcare system
