Abstract
The use of AI in EFL writing classes has changed the way students interact with scholarly articles. Contextualization, Awareness, Learning, Linking, Experiencing, Developing, and Assessing (CALLEDA) is the teaching methodology that is being used to situate ChatGPT, Grammarly, and QuillBot as "co-instructors" in this project. This study shown ChatGPT becomes no longer a remedial tool but a pedagogical ally when it is integrated within CALLEDA's programmed phases and accompanied by teachers. To maximize benefits while limiting concerns of overdependence and style homogenization, our study contributes to ongoing debates concerning hybrid AI-human teaching models by underlining the necessity for ethical integration and instructor scaffolding. The research shows that AWE can help EFL students from beginning to end by repurposing ChatGPT as a co-instructor, allowing more people to have access to academic publishing while maintaining high standards of scholarship.
