Abstract
This research examines the impact of perceived AI literacy on task performance, with a focus on creativity as a mediating factor. A quantitative survey was administered to 120 head library professionals in medical institutions recognized by the PMDC (Pakistan Medical and Dental Council) and HEC (Higher Education Commission) in Pakistan. Findings showed that these professionals displayed satisfactory levels of perceived AI literacy, creativity, and task performance. Path analyses confirmed a positive and significant effect of AI literacy on both creativity and task performance. Additionally, it was found that creativity had a positive association with task performance and served as a significant mediator between AI literacy and task performance. Theoretically, the findings of this research addressed the knowledge and population gap in the available research. From practical perspectives, these findings offer valuable insights for medical governing bodies, AI developers, IT administrators, and information management professionals, underscoring the importance of AI literacy in promoting sustainable creativity and efficient task performance, ultimately enhancing information management and advancing medical education and practices in Pakistan.
